What the hell is this?

BillMyParents

BillMyParents (Socialwise, Inc.) - http://billmyparents.com

#development #usability #scss #ruby #jquery I've been working at Socialwise now since early 2009 and have been leading their frontend engineering efforts. I've migrated all of their pages and sites from table's to div's with semantic CSS generated with SCSS and Compass. I've also moved them to jQuery and designed all of the custom JavaScript used on the site.

In addition to the frontend work, I've also lead the usability testing effort for http://billmyparents.com. I wrote the test procedure, engineered the test environment and prepared the resulting documentation.

American Martyrs Catholic Church

American Martyrs Catholic Church - http://www.americanmartyrs.org/

#design #development #php #jquery I migrated their old site over to PHP from ASP; designed and architected their layout; and wrote new CSS to clean up the layout. I also built them a custom contact form that accepts preset mailto: addresses while obfuscating the actual recipient's address.

Stocks

Stocks – http://stocks.lecklider.com

#project #design #development #rails #ruby I started this project to try out (the rather excellent) Hpricot and see what kind of data can be pulled in from outside websites and pushed into Rails. I quickly discovered that just about anything can be pulled in and Rails is pretty good at working through large chunks of data.

I used Hpricot to pull in data from MarketWatch and Yahoo! Finance and build a robust stock data pool. I'm still in the process of creating a stock-analytics piece to this project that will offer some really interesting insight into the potential valuation of any stock ticker.

Neil Tepper

Neil Tepper – http://www.neiltepper.com/

#development #jquery I helped Neil and his designer Jeff make their website a reality by building out all of the pages from the Photoshop mockups provided. More work has been done on his site since we finished and it is really looking good.

Neil's known as the "The Creativity Doctor" and is an awesome guy. The site was designed by Jeff Kahn and I did the development work.

Toby Jaguar Algya

Toby Jaguar Algya – http://lejaguar.com

#design #development #php #jquery Portfolio site created using Indexhibit and some of my own crafty PHP magic. The "blog" is actually his Twitter feed pulled in. The color scheme is a custom palette I made using Adobe Kuler designed to accent the strong colors present in the photography with softer, muted tones as a background.

sNews

sNews – http://dev.lecklider.com/snews/

#project #design #development #php #prototype This was a project in integrating information from disparate sources and data mining for relevant information. I used PHP to snag Google Trends, grab some blog posts about each of the top 10 trends, mine those posts for high traffic words and finally pass each trend off to Flickr (via their API) and display images that relate. Check out the code here.
